April is National Pet Month across the UK, which celebrates and raises awareness of responsible pet ownership, as well as sharing the many benefits of our cherished companions.
We wanted to join the campaign and celebrate the pets of Zetetick! Respect, care and kindness are key for responsible pet ownership, which are reflected in our Bedrock values.

National Pet Month – say hello to the pets of Zetetick
Elvis (owner: Abi, Executive Administrator)
“This is Elvis, he is nearly 10 years old. He loves a cuddle and always makes sure I get out of the house to exercise… ❤️”
Syd (owner: Abi, Executive Administrator)
“This is our budgie Syd and he enjoys eating breakfast with us. Of course, everyone loves to hear him chirping in the background during Teams meetings… especially Jonathan and Gary!”
Layo (owner: Karen, Finance Officer)
“I am Queen Layo.
I am 13 years young and a rehome, my human servants took me in 4 years ago. They are blessed daily with me waking them up at 4.30am. I like to attack any other animals just for the fun of it.
I am the most best Cat ever.”
Raffy (owner: Anne Mari, Finance Director)
“Rafferty (Raffy) is the sweetest cat I’ve ever known. He wakes me up by eating my hair, which is annoying, but opening my eyes to his big eyes staring back at me is quite endearing! It wasn’t until he came home recently with a broken femur and had to have major surgery removing his hip that I realised just how much I had become a cat person. Love this cat to bits.”
Olaf (owner: Anne Mari, Finance Director)
“Olaf has the biggest heart of any dog. He was found in a ditch Greece, shot and covered in ticks – he had to be shaved and sadly was really poorly. But 6 months of vet treatment in Greece and then he was fit to travel to us, and he has been the most wonderful dog – he has forgiven humans for all their mistreatment of him, and worked as a therapy dog for a year with the Women’s Refuge in Brighton. He is so well known, everywhere I go in Hove someone recognises him – and everyone loves him…although not as much as I do!”

Daphne, Rupert, Freddie and Daisy (owner: Jeremy, Maintenance Officer)
“Meet Daphne and Rupert (both English pointers) and then Freddie and Daisy! (Jack Russell/Schnauzer cross)
We started off with Freddie, then Daisy joined us a year later and we rescued Rupert and Daphne whilst on holiday in 2013!
Our dogs are very much part of our family, Rupert is our gentle giant, Daisy is our feisty but very loving girl, Freddie is our crazy dog, loves a cuddle and grins at you! Daphne was a little bit ditsy and loved talking to us!”
Amba (owner: Allan, South East Area Housing Manager)
“This is Amba, our rescued Fox Red Labrador.
She was seized by the police from a puppy farm along with a large number of other dogs when she was around 8 months old, after a court case she came to live with us when she was around 16 months and is now around 2 ½ yrs old.”
