Supported living tenant spotlight – meet Nathan
Zetetick Housing Charity’s mission is to provide supported living tenants with homes that facilitate their well-being and promote creativity. Nathan is a shining example of the amazing things independent living can do for a person with learning disabilities and/or autism.
“I am comfortable and happy with the environment I am living in right now. It allows me to be a creative person.” -Nathan, Zetetick tenant
We are thrilled to introduce Nathan – a talented Concept Artist, Character Designer and Illustrator, and a Zetetick tenant. He recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Illustration, achieving an amazing Upper Second-Class Honours (2:1) – certainly a result to be very proud of. We can’t thank him enough for his captivating bespoke artwork for the front cover of this issue (his first commission) and are happy to share some more of his amazing work.
Nathan was pleased to tell us more about his inspirations and how he feels about living in his home.
Where do you get your inspiration from when designing your artwork?
“The majority of my artwork is usually inspired by manga art styles as well as artists such as Yuji Uekawa, Akira Toriyama, Azuma Kiyohiko, Tyson Hesse and other commission artists I follow on social media.”
What does the front cover [of the magazine] represent for you?
“For me the front cover represents the idea of a good safe environment for tenants by helping them get settled in as well as providing them all kinds of support.”
Does your home and the area help you feel creative, and are you happy there?
“I am comfortable and happy with the environment I am living in right now. It allows me to be a creative person and produce a lot of fan art projects I am doing at the moment.”
If you live in one of Zetetick’s properties and you’d like to share your work in this magazine (such as art, photos or writing), we’d love to hear from you – email us at: [email protected].
