Tenant Service utility Charge
As an ethics-driven organisation, we’re committed to upholding our BEDROCK values. Today, we’d like to display our ‘Openness’ by sharing information regarding a difficult decision the organisation has had to make this year
As part of our service to tenants with learning disabilities or autism, we pay their utility bills for gas, electricity and heating on their behalf. In return, we charge our beneficiaries a Tenant Service Utility Charge (TSUC) to supplement these energy costs and these energy costs alone. We provide this service, among many others, to make our tenants’ lives easier.
Our Fixed term contracts have ended
In the past, we’ve been able to protect tenants from similar price increases. Unfortunately, our fixed-term contracts are set to renew next month, and our energy suppliers are doubling their prices. As such, we’ve made the difficult decision to increase the TSUC to pay for this increase to utility bills.
All tenants, care providers, appointees, and family contacts have been aware of this change since June via email and/or letter and reminded this month via letter.
Annual review
When the TSUC has its next annual review, the TSUC may increase or decrease again. As always, we will continue to keep our tenants and their wellbeing in mind when making decisions such as these that affect them.
