What is Hike4Homes?
Hike4Homes is Zetetick Housing’s annual fundraising challenge. The event brings together people who enjoy walking, care about social impact and want to support a practical cause that changes lives.
The route follows some of the most spectacular scenery in East Sussex, taking walkers across the South Downs between Eastbourne, Seaford and Lewes.
Participants can choose between three route options, making the event accessible to a wide range of ages and abilities.
The atmosphere is friendly, supportive and determined. Some people walk with friends. Some join as workplace teams. Others come on their own and quickly become part of the group.
Everyone finishes knowing they have contributed towards something worthwhile.

Why We Are Walking
Zetetick Housing is a charity and specialist housing provider working across London and the South East.
For nearly two decades we have focused on providing homes for adults with learning disabilities, autism and other additional needs.
Housing has a profound impact on people’s lives.
A well-maintained home provides security. The right environment supports independence. Good housing creates opportunities for people to build routines, maintain relationships and live with greater confidence.
The funds raised through Hike4Homes help us continue improving the homes we provide and the environments in which people live.
That might mean improvements to communal spaces, sensory gardens, accessibility adaptations or other projects that enhance quality of life for our tenants.
The purpose is simple.
Better homes create better outcomes.

A Charity Walk With Real Impact
Many charity events raise money for important causes. Hike4Homes connects fundraising directly to something tangible.
Participants know exactly what they are supporting.
Every donation contributes towards homes that people rely upon every day.
For many of our tenants, home is far more than somewhere to sleep. It is where support is coordinated, independence is developed and confidence grows.
That is why this event matters.
Fundraising Ideas
You do not need a huge network to make a difference.
Many participants raise funds by:
- Sharing their JustGiving page on social media
- Asking friends and family for sponsorship
- Organising workplace fundraising
- Running raffles or sweepstakes
- Matching donations through employers
- Creating team fundraising challenges
Small donations quickly add up when people come together behind a shared purpose.
Walking the South Downs
The South Downs National Park offers some of the finest walking routes in the country.
Rolling hills, open views, historic landmarks and coastal scenery make this a memorable challenge whether you are an experienced walker or taking on your first organised charity hike.
Participants should wear suitable footwear, bring water, snacks and weather-appropriate clothing, and prepare for a full day outdoors.
The challenge is achievable with sensible preparation and a positive mindset.
