Zetetick’s Hike4Homes Raises £7,300 and New Awareness for Inclusive Housing

Zetetick’s Hike4Homes Raises £7,300 and New Awareness for Inclusive Housing

Zetetick Housing is celebrating the remarkable success of its latest fundraising and awareness campaign, Hike4Homes, which raised more than £7,300 to support people with learning disabilities at risk of housing insecurity.

But the event was about more than just the money. Through the combined efforts of walkers, staff, volunteers, and supporters, Zetetick reached new audiences, amplified its message on social media, and strengthened its presence in the community. The campaign has become one of the charity’s most visible to date, shining a light on the urgent need for safe, secure, and suitable housing for vulnerable people.

“Every penny raised could help fund and improve homes, providing essential features like sensory rooms to create safe, supportive, and enriching environments for vulnerable adults with learning disabilities and autism” Sophia, Fundraising and Comms Manager.

A True Team Effort

The charity was keen to acknowledge the range of contributions that made the event possible, from the committed walkers who trained and showed up, to the staff behind the scenes who handled logistics, media, and planning. The BD (Business Development) team ensured the campaign message reached far and wide, while Jeremy, the volunteer support driver, and the after-party crew provided vital encouragement along the way.

Beyond the Walk: Growing Visibility and Support

Hike4Homes wasn’t just a financial success, it also boosted Zetetick’s online following and opened the door to conversations with potential funders and partners. The campaign gave the organisation a chance to publicly demonstrate its commitment to advocacy and inclusion, showing that their work extends beyond housing provision to fighting for systemic change.

A big thank you to two local businesses, GoFitness and Harvey’s Brewery for supporting the event.

What’s Next?

Building on the momentum of Hike4Homes, Zetetick plans to continue expanding its advocacy, fundraising efforts, and community collaborations. With greater visibility and stronger networks, the charity is poised to push further on its mission to ensure that people with learning disabilities are not overlooked in the housing crisis.

“We’ve shown what we can achieve when we work together — and this is just the start,” Sophia, Fundraising and Comms Manager
